Just Chill - 5 Ways To Relax Yourself
Everyday we wake up and start our to-do lists. We get ready for work, drive to work, make phone calls, appointments, laundry etc. With so much going on we need to find easy ways to relax. In an ideal world, if we wanted to unplug, we'd take long luxurious vacations at a resort and sip on mojitos. Unfortunately, that's not how the world works and we can't indulge as much as we want to.
Here are a few things that have helped me to chill out when I’m feeling overwhelmed.
1. Go Outside for a Walk
Take 15 minutes to walk alone outside to get fresh air. According to the Scientific American, sporadic breaks replenish our energy, fuel productivity, improve self control and decision making.
2. Take Deep Breaths!
- Try this 5-minute meditation technique for relaxation:
- Inhale and count to 5
- Hold your breath and count to 3
- Exhale and count to 8
- Hold your breath and count to 1
3. Listen to Your Favorite Album
This is one reason why music is associated with relaxation. No matter how I’m feeling, I always listen to music. It has helped me through everything!
4. Do Yoga
Take 15-30 minutes to do a yoga sequence. You can find free yoga routines on YouTube.
5. Drink a Cup of Tea and Read a Magazine or Book
Find something that you are interested in and read on it. Just a few minutes of reading will help you to relax.
I love Tea during all times of the day. Drink a cup of your favorite tea, get a book, listen to your music and just chill.
