Overcoming Obstacles

Life can be tough! Each day we are faced with a new challenge. We are faced with obstacles and hurdles that we do not foresee coming our way. 

Last month I was driving and heard my brakes screeching. The sound got worse as I kept driving so I knew I needed to take my car in.

I took it into the shop to find out that I needed new brakes ASAP and new tires. I didn’t have enough money at the time and didn’t know what to do. I felt hopeless. I started thinking about how I worked so much and I still couldn’t afford to get to get the car issues taken care of. 

I pulled myself together and remembered that I had been through worse and I had the strength to get through this. Luckily, I was able to get the brakes fixed and new tires the next day. 

Incidences like this happen all the time. We get stuck in a situation and don’t know how we will get out it. 

A few years ago, I was unemployed and my mother was being furloughed at her job during the recession. I was so broke, I didn’t know what to do. 

Now I have a full-time job and income on the side. Even when I don’t have as much I would like, I am still able to take care of my needs.

I have to remember that I won’t always be stuck in the same position forever. The goal is to try to find out how to overcome the obstacles. 

The first thing I do when I am faced with an obstacle is take deep breaths. By relaxing my mind, I am able to think more clearly. 

I map out what steps I can take to resolve the issue. I would reach out to friends and family for support. Many times they have offered suggestions that have helped to resolve the issue. 

The most important thing I do is pray. When I speak to my heavenly Father, I immediately feel calm and at peace. Any sort of meditative time will allow you to become more centered. 

Always remember that the trials that we face will only make us stronger. Nothing last forever! You have the strength to overcome ALL obstacles!
